At Formic, we are committed to maintaining a fair, transparent, and inclusive hiring process. As part of our recruitment, we use AI-powered tools to help our teams evaluate candidate responses during interviews.
These tools analyze interview responses and generate evaluation summaries and insights. While the AI contributes additional information to our process, it does not make hiring decisions. Every decision is ultimately made by a human recruiter or hiring manager.
Formic ensures that any AI-generated summaries or analysis outputs are traceable and authentic in accordance with emerging California AI transparency standards. We rely on AI to bring greater consistency to candidate evaluations, to provide structured insights that support human judgment, and to help us improve the fairness and efficiency of our hiring process. Candidates can expect AI to be used in at least one stage of the interview process.
You have the right to request access to your data and to the results generated by these tools. In some jurisdictions, you may also request an alternative evaluation method instead of the AI assessment.
Fairness and privacy are central to our approach. Formic does not sell or share candidate data with third parties for AI model training. We comply with all California privacy requirements, including honoring applicable data access, deletion, and opt-out requests. All AI tools we use are reviewed periodically to identify, prevent, and mitigate potential discriminatory or privacy-related outcomes.
If you believe you have been unfairly impacted, you may file a complaint with the appropriate state agency, such as the California Civil Rights Department or the Illinois Department of Human Rights.
Please note that if you are located in New York City or Colorado, Formic will not use AI tools to assess your candidacy. In those jurisdictions, all interview evaluations are conducted exclusively by human reviewers to ensure compliance with local laws.
Formic continuously monitors developments in federal and state AI and privacy legislation to ensure our practices remain compliant as new requirements take effect.
