Will AMRs replace our forklift drivers?

What happens if an AMR gets blocked or encounters an obstacle?
The AMR slows, stops, and waits for the path to clear, the same way a cautious driver would. If it can re-route, it does automatically. If it's stuck beyond a set timeout, Formic's 24/7 monitoring team gets an alert and can intervene remotely. No pallet moves get lost; the task re-queues.
Can we start small and scale the fleet later?
Yes. Start with two AMRs and scale to thirty or more (same software, same fleet manager, same SLA), adding capacity under the same agreement as your pallet flow grows.
What size facility does this work in?
AMR deployments have run in facilities from 30,000 to over 500,000 square feet. The floor needs to be reasonably level and have consistent aisle widths of at least 8 feet for standard AMR frames. No other modifications required; the fleet maps and adapts to your actual layout on deployment.
Will it integrate with our WMS?
Yes. The fleet integrates with WMS, ERP, and MES systems over REST API or message-bus, and is compatible with major platforms including SAP, Oracle, and Manhattan Associates, for real-time inventory tracking as the AMRs move.
